Raidió Rí-Rá on FM for Seachtain na Gaeilge

Raidió Rí-Rá is ten years old this year and to mark its birthday, the youth station is broadcasting on FM for Seachtain na Gaeilge and they will be on air for ten days in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Limerick. As part of the celebrations, there will be live music and guest-presenters including Micheál Ó Ciaraidh from TG4 and Daithí Mac Suibhne from Fair City and special prizes on offer include two nights in the House Hotel in Galway, courtesy of Choice Hotel Group. There will be a focus on publicising Bliain na Gaeilge 2018 and Seachtain na Gaeilge 2018 events with hourly updates between 08:00 and 20:00. All this, along with the latest chart music, and entertainment, film and sports news.

Niamh Ní Chróinín, Raidió Rí-Rá's Station Manager said: “We're delighted to be on FM to mark ten years with something special. Raidió Rí-Rá has achieved a lot since it was founded in 2008; offering experience and training for young people, workshops for schools along with great music programmes and filling a big gap on the airwaves. There is no other full-time Irish language chart station for young people on FM in Ireland and we're thrilled to be able to offer this service for ten days."

Raidió Rí-Rá broadcasts 24/7 at, on the Android app and iOS, and in certain areas on DAB. The station aims to be the first Irish language chart station broadcasting on FM in every county in Ireland. Raidió Rí-Rá provides workshops for secondary schools around the country. Raidió Rí-Rá publishes the CEOL album every year, wwith translations of popular songs, in partnership with Conradh na Gaeilge and RTÉ 2FM. Raidió Rí-Rá can be heard on FM 87.7 in Galway, FM 106.7n Cork, FM 105.2 in Dublin & FM 105.5 in Limerick until 12th March.
