DJ Taoiseach on Raidió na Life
12 March 2018
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar officially opened the new Foras na Gaeilge building at 63 - 66 Amiens Street, in Dublin 1, on 30th January and he also made an impromptu visit to Raidió na Life's newly built studios which are situated in the building.
During his visit to the new studios- which will be officially opened later this month- the Taoiseach was the first person to try out the new sound desk in Studio 1, which includes the latest technology in broadcasting facilities to be found in any community station around the country. The Taoiseach seemed very pleased to meet the Raidió na Life team during the official opening of the Foras na Gaeilge building and he praised the station's efforts to promote the Irish language and to provide a radio service for Irish speakers in the capital- young and old; fluent speakers and learners, and like himself; those who wish to improve their Irish language skills.
The Taoiseach had high praise also for the station's modern and energetic approach and he recognised the important role that Raidió na Life plays in the contemporary urban landscape of the Irish language, by connecting the language to different styles of music- pop, rock, alternative and electronic music. Raidió na Life has always been recognised for its wide variety of eclectic music. The station is celebrating 25 years on air in 2018.
